1. What are our office hours?
Our phones are answered from 8:30am-4:30 pm. The office is staffed from 8:00am-5:00 pm with appointments available from 8:30 am - 3:40 pm.

2. How do I make an appointment?
You can request a non-urgent appointment online through our secure messaging center, or please call our office at (804) 272-2411. Appointments are available from 8:30am-3:40 pm, Monday through Friday. You and your child are very important to us. We have the utmost respect for everyone's time and will do our best to accommodate your every need.

If you feel that your child is experiencing a medical emergency, please do not hesitate to call our office regardless of the hour. We have a physician on call to address your child's needs. If, however, the emergency is perceived as life threatening or extremely serious, you should call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room immediately.

To request an appointment at any of our office locations call our central scheduling number 804-272-2411. Please have the following information available:

  • Child's name
  • Date of birth
  • Brief description of complaint or reason for the appointment
  • Your address and child's address if different
  • Home and alternate (work or cell) phone numbers
  • Primary healthcare provider-name and phone
  • Referral (if required)
  • Insurance carrier or HMO information


3. How do I reschedule or cancel an appointment?
We ask that if you cannot keep your child's appointment call at least 24-hours in advance to cancel so that we may offer another child the opportunity to be seen in your child's place. We can also reschedule your visit to a later and more convenient time. It is, however, most courteous to call as soon as you know that you are unable to keep the appointment. Please try to be prompt for your appointment and arrive approximately 15-20 minutes early to allow sufficient time for registration. If you are running late, simply call, let us know and give us an estimated time of arrival. Children's Urology of Virginia, PC has a policy that after the first missed appointment without 24-hour advanced notice there will be an assessment of a $50 No Show fee. A $100 No Show will be assessed for failure to appear for scheduled surgery without 24 hour advanced notice. If surgery is missed due to illness, this fee will be waived.

4. How can I prepare for my appointment?
Please assist us by bringing the following items:

  • Referral forms if required by your insurance
  • Insurance cards
  • Means of identification (i.e. Valid Driver's License or Social Security Card)
  • Copies of any studies, labs, x-ray's recently performed on your child
  • A list of your child's current medications and past medicines (prescribed or over-the-counter, any herbs or alternative meds) relating to his or her condition
  • Relevant information about your child's medical and surgical history
  • A list of important questions you would like to ask the doctor or nurse practitioner

5. How can I find driving directions to your office?

Our pediatric urologic providers have collectively over 50 years of experience treating urologic problems in children. To learn more about them and their training please visit the "Our Staff" section on the website and click on your provider's name.
